November 2016

This is my second month in America and I can say whole heartedly that I love it, last month i was starting to feel homesick and realised how hard it was to live away from home but now I feel like my roommates are my family and this apartment is my home!

This month we had our busiest event at Harbour Ridge so far  and that was thanksgiving. This national holiday brought all of us so much closer, not just us J-1’s but also the H2B’s that are out here too that we work with everyday.

An american girl we work with called Crystal and her mother Rachelle had there own thanksgiving dinner and party that they invited us all too at there house on Saturday, we all got to mingle a lot more and I can genuinely say that everyone at harbour ridge is my family.

I learnt that thanksgiving is just that, you give thanks to everything you are grateful for there was too many of us at the party to go around and say what we are thankful for so I’m going to take a moment to do it now:

I am thankful to have such a loving and supportive family and group of friends back home to let me know they are proud of me and that they are never too far away.

I am thankful to have such an amazing roommates and co-workers that are my harbour ridge family and I can go to at any time.

I am thankful for the support that Rasheeda, Kerry and everyone at BSG offer me everyday and I know if i need anything they will be there straight away.

and lastly

I am thankful for this amazing opportunity given to me by BSG to make a new family and have an experience of a lifetime! ❤

Thanksgiving has taught me that even though England is my home, I have a home here too! This month I have settled so much and thanksgiving has taught me a lot!

If you get homesick don’t worry too much because this is amazing and I will always be thankful for this experience!

Thank you for reading!
